It's really hard to believe it is 57 years since we graduated. It has been a pretty good 57 years, can't complain too much! Here goes....I went into the Army right after graduation, Sept.19, 1958. Spent 6 months in Maryland, then I was transferred to Ulm, Germany. I was there about one year. I enjoyed the time there a lot, it is very beautiful country, but I didn't like the cold winters. We used to go out every weekend and sight see until the Hungarian Uprising occurred and then we were restricted on base for some time. From Germany we went to Fort Carson, Colorado. That is where I met my wife, Chloe Dell and married her in March of 1958. I got out of the Army on Sept. 18, 1958, on her 18th birthday, and we headed back to Burbank on that same day in our 51 Ford! Wish I still had that car!

Colorado is one beautiful state, but I didn't like the cold winters there either, California weather is much better! We are living in the same house that I lived in when I was born, we have remodeled it several times and put in a swimming pool too. We have 2 sons, who both live in Burbank too. They are both married and we have 3 grandchildren. My sons and my grandchildren all went to the same schools as I did, Roosevelt, Luther Burbank and Burroughs. At present time, our granddaughter is a sophomore at Burroughs and the 2 grandsons are going to Luther Burbank. In 1968 I started work as a Customer Service Representative for Office Equipment for SCM, later sold out to 3M, and then again to Lanier which I retired from. I never really like it, but it was a job and a good steady paycheck! I retired September 30, 1997.

My wife worked as a Quality Control Technician in a capacitor factory and retired on October 10, 1997. Then we both began to enjoy life a bit. At present, our biggest and most enjoyable experience is just waking up together to a new day, HA! We have gone on several great trips. We loved Hawaii, went there 3 different times, we would rent a car and tour the whole island. Enjoyed each trip tremendously. ( Waikiki, Maui and Kauai, we liked Maui the best.) We have also gone on several cruises, one on the Norwegian Caribbean out of Florida, to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Cancun and their Private Island. A wonderful vacation. Then in later years we went 2 times on the Elation out of L.A. to the Mexican Riviera. We enjoyed it so much the first time we went again 3 months later.  We went on several trips to British Columbia, Canada to visit family, very beautiful country. We had very enjoyable times camping. Lot's of times we would camp by streams and rivers so we would go gold panning and dry washing for gold. We always found gold, even though it might have been a speck sometimes. We did a little back packing too, saw some awesome country in doing it too. Great experience!

We both enjoy hobbies like making wood crafts together. We also like to go on a lot of day outings and take pictures. We have 2 digital cameras, they are great fun to have and share the pictures instantly. I take all the pictures and my wife Chloe' does all the computer work. I just like to play solitaire games on the computer.

It was just about one year ago when we ran into Denny Grossman, we were both visiting a mutual friend in the hospital on Easter Sunday. Come to find out we went to Burroughs and graduated together in 1955. Also went to the same computer club and didn't even know each other through that either. So for the last year we have been enjoying corresponding with classmates through the computer. These computers are GREAT!

P.S..... Get Involved in the 1955 Burroughs Website. Don't let it die!

Happy Healthy Days Ahead To You All!
