I would be most grateful for our classmates' prayers at this time for my Brother Michael,
who is currently in Providence Tarzana Medical Center with a serious heart condition.
He will require a permanent pacemaker and faces aortic valve replacement next week.

As I may have mentioned in previous correspondence, Michael is an award-winning
food and fashion photographer, who freelanced for top-flight publications in New York
and Los Angeles, using his professional name, Michael LeRoy. At the height of his long
career, I would rarely see him, except for publicity trips to Burbank with his dear friend,
Helen Gurley Brown (Editor of Cosmopolitan) when she guested on The Tonight Show.
When Michael eventually returned home, he gained immediate prominence for his nearly
single-handed production of the famous Restaurant Guide for Los Angeles Magazine.

Although Michael was "married to the job" and has no wife or children, our extended Family
would deeply appreciate everyone's spiritual thoughts and concern.

With real sadness, I have to inform you and our classmates that Michael did not survive
his heart surgery. He passed away this afternoon at Tarzana Medical Center. His grieving
Family and friends will miss him terribly.
