RONETTA SCOTT ANCTIL

My Biography

Starting in the 11 grade Sharon Stephens (Summer) and I started roller-skating several times a week. After graduation we started taking lessons 3 times and skating 5 to 6 days a week. We double dated a lot, however, if you didn't skate we didn't date. We both met our husbands at the skating rink (Rollercade in North Hollywood). After I married Norman Mole and she married Jack Mahr, we settled into raising our families. I was working at Bendix, in the Engineering blueprint department while Sharon (Sandy) was working at Lockheed. I was 19 when I got married. I brought my first son, Tom, home from the hospital on my 21st birthday. Pretty good birthday present. My daughter Laura was born 15 months later.

At that time, Norm began experimenting with LSD and started drinking at the same time. After nine years of marriage, I took my kid and ran. It got pretty scary at home. I was working at Librascope in Glendale for 2 ½ years and then at Lockheed in the Skunk Works (still in the Engineering blueprint.)at the time that I decided to go it alone. After 3 years I met and married my second husband, Armand Anctil in a double wedding with Sharon Stephens and my husbands best friend Dick Fate. He had full custody of his two boys, this gave us 4 children 3 boy and 1 girl one year apart 7,8,9 and 10. We than added our daughter Regina and three years later, Steve. With 6 kids we were very busy. I stayed home with the kids for 6 years. Armand managed Little League for 11 years. Along with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Campfire Girls, we managed to get in a lot of camping, fishing, hiking and all that good stuff.

I went back to work at Zero Corp. in Burbank, in 1974. My field of expertise was no longer needed. So back to square one. I started at Zero as a clerk, left as a Purchasing Agent. Also, ran Zero's branch of Lockheed Federal Credit Union as a manager, while a Zero. After 20 years with Zero, they decided to move to Salt Lake city, ID. My husband had his own print shop here and with all of the kids I decided it was time to change jobs. I landed a great job with Easton Sports, Inc. (aluminum baseball bat) and have been there ever since. I found out Purchasing is made for us girls. I spend money all day and send the bills to Accounting. I have been with Easton Sports for 8 years now and have no immediate plans of retiring.

Armand and I bought a boat in 1986 and our Condo in Bullhead in 1987. We needed somewhere to keep the boat and since the condo had boat slips of the Colorado River it made it so convenient to enjoy the boat with the family. My daughter Laura died in 1986 and never had an opportunity to enjoy the condo and the Get-togethers we shared there.

Three year ago Armand died of cancer. It was a great lose, but we had 33 good years that we shared. I have a great relationship with my 5 kids their 4 spouses and 13 grandkids. Life is good. Last June I moved out of the house that we had for 30 years as it became both time and financially consuming. My daughter is in the process of buy the house from me. We get to keep it in the family that way and I am FREE.

Right now I am in the process of enjoying the rest of my life, starting today. I am so happy that I am able to share this time with all of you. The relationships we are building are very special to me.

See all of you at the big 50 reunion.
