GLENDA MYERS PORTESI and MARCO
My Biography

After graduation, I went to work for the phone co. a few years, and fifteen months later, married my present and wonderful husband, Marco. We will have been married 49 years this coming September, 2005. We have four beautiful and loving children and seven grandchildren. We raised our family in Canoga Park, CA, but in 1981, because of a job opportunity, we moved to the ST. Louis, MO area (better known as "Misery"). Our youngest child, Angie was the only one who came with us and the rest remained in CA.

In June 2004, we retired to Prescott, AZ and are working at building a house. The plan was to be a lot closer to our family and this was as close as we could get, since CA has become too expensive. Prescott isn't much better, since some dummie reporter published an article a few years back and putting this place on a Ten Best Places To Live For The Money list. Now we are experiencing a population explosion. Fortunately for us, we bought our lot before it was published!

It's hard starting over at this age in an unfamiliar place, but my sister and her husband live here, so that helps. Sometimes I envy my classmates who stayed in and around Burbank, even though things have changed so much. What I really miss is our family.

As for hobbies, I'm not sure where that road will lead us yet. My artwork has become a "been there, done that," and I'm too old and achy to ski anymore. We use to do a lot of camping when our kids were young and trained German Shepherds for show for awhile. When we get the house built, we will figure the rest out.

The Lord has been very good to us and we are thankful for the many blessings He has given us along the way and we will continue to trust Him for the rest of our journey.
