JEAN MOORE ROSENQUIST and BERT
My Biography

I was born in Hollywood, California on September 21, 1937. Two years later my family moved to Burbank, and bought a new home on Avon Street. I lived there through all my school years, beginning at Bret e Elementary, then Luther Burbank Jr. High, and then to John Burroughs High School.

After graduation I enrolled at Sawyer School of Business and took speedwriting. After completing course was employed by Bendix Radio in North Hollywood as a stenographer. On June 2, 1956 1 married Bert Rosenquist. I met Bert when I was 15 years old. My girlfriend Carol Ashby ( Winter '56) and her boy friend, Bob Doty introduced us. Bob was a long time friend of Bert's. Bert and Bob went to Verdugo High School in Sunland. Carol asked Bob to get me a date so that we could go to a Burroughs game, Well, the rest is history. We dated for 3 years. It has been a fantastic marriage. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband, lover, and friend.

We have three lovely chidren, our firstborn, Stephanie, was born on October 9, 1957, our son, Jeffrey, was born on September 30, 1959, and Beverly was born on January 8, 1964. They are all happily married and have given us nine wonderful, beautiful, fantastic, grandchildren. Bert and I moved to Salt lake City, Utah in 1966. He was employed with Litton Industries in Beverly Hills. This year will be his 43 years with the company which is now called Northrup Grumman. They bought all of Litton Industries going on 3 years ago. Our children were quite young when we moved to Salt Lake. We are very blessed to have all our children and grandchildren living in the Salt Lake Valley. We have attended Salt Lake Christian Center, (an Assembly of God church) for 39 years. God has been good to us. Bert has been a deacon for many years. I am on the ladies board at the church and right now serving as the Women's Ministries Director. We both .are in the choir and are involved in numerous groups. I have also been involved with the Missionettes, a girls group at the church. I have taught for over 20 years and am currently the coordinator of the group. Our children and grandchildren are involved in their own churches and love serving God.

I worked for many years with our oldest daughter, Stephanie and her husband. They own a communications business and have done quite well. I was their front office secretary. I retired two years ago. Bert has planned to retire in 2006.

We will be celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2006. We are in the process of planning a cruise with Bob and Pat Potter. Bert went to school with Bob & Pat. They are very special friends. We have been on five cruises with them. Eastern and Western Carribbean, Alaska, Mexico, and Panama Canal.

Bert and I have traveled to Bucarest, Romania twice in the 90's and sang in a living cross at Easter time. We were involved with choirs from Utah and Colorado. There was 150 of us that traveled there and joined with some Romanian Bible College students. We sang in the one of the second largest buildings in the world. . What an awesome experience. It was a theater built by Nicolae Ceausescu, communist dictator. He his wife were executed in 1989.

Carol & Maureen have come to our family reunions through the years. They know most of our family members. Carol and her husband live in Willets, Ca. and Maureen and her husband live in Del Mar, Ca. Shirley lives in Nevada City, Ca. Joan Schleininger also lived in the neighborhood, (Summer '55) She passed away a few years ago. She is dearly missed. The rest of our neighborhood gang was Bob & Ed Overstreet, Winter 55). They lived two doors from me. Bob used to drive me to school in his '36 ford coupe. That was a neat car! Jay Smith (Summer 55) was a very good friend also. We used to have birthday parties in his backyard and have some great memories when we were little. Vickie Randolph Sias (Summer 55) and I have kept in touch through the years. Have included some neighborhood pictures of some of my longtime friends. They are all are graduates of John Burroughs!

In 1983 1 was diagnosed with breast cancer. That was 22 years ago. I am a survivor! Praise God! This has been a great journey the last 50 years. I thank God for His hand in it all! I thank God also, for all the friendships that have been rekindled through the fantastic work done by several of our classmates. Thanks you, guys for all the work that has been put into this project. It means so much to all of us! You all are loved and appreciated!
