DON KREISMAN and KATHLEEN
My Biography

I will begin this brief nostalgic trip down memory lane with the most important and memorable events that have transpired during my 67 years.

In 1964, I married Kathleen Howard, a former resident of Puyallup, Washington. We recently celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary and are looking forward to our Golden 50th and beyond. We are the proud parents of three children and five grandchildren ranging in age from 2 to 11 years, and are confident that more are on the way. We most enjoy traveling and spending time with our family.

Our son Lance, a UCLA graduate, is an electrical engineer and patent attorney, living in the Bay area. He and his wife Annette have two boys. Leslie, our oldest daughter, graduated from CSUN and is married to Robert, an attorney and business owner. They have a son and daughter and live in Northridge. Our youngest daughter, Stephanie, is a doctor and is planning to open her own Chiropractic office in the near future. She is married to Peter, a business owner. They have a son and currently live in Connecticut.

After John Burroughs, I attended the University of Washington for two years before accepting a "voluntary" draft to serve in the U.S. Army for 24 months. I was stationed in Germany where I performed duty as a Battalion Legal Specialist.

Upon returning to civilian life, I obtained a degree (B.A., Business Administration) from the University of Puget Sound in 1964. My first professional position in the business world after college was working for an insurance company as a claims adjuster, specializing in personal injury. A few years later, I decided to become a real estate entrepreneur. After obtaining my brokers license, I opened a real estate and investment office, specializing in commercial/business properties and limited partnership investments.

Shifting career goals from real estate to Aerospace, I was hired by Boeing Aerospace as a Computer/Programmer Systems Analyst in Kent, Washington. Subsequently, I was transferred to Manhattan Beach, CA and relocated my family to beautiful Simi Valley in 1974.

Shortly after moving back to California, I embarked on a four-year program, attending law school evenings at LaVerne University while working full time at Boeing. With law degree in hand, I joined Lockheed Skunk Works as a Contract Negotiator for major military and commercial procurements. A decade later, I was hired by Northrop Corporation and worked in a similar capacity.

During the remaining years until retirement, I started and operated many businesses that were real estate or sales oriented.

I enjoy almost all spectator sports, especially football. Among my favorite activities to engage in are racquetball, golf, jogging (I ran and completed the 26.2 mile Los Angeles marathon in 1989), chess, reading, casino poker and blackjack.

I was born in Kansas City, Kansas on October 26, 1937. At nine years of age, my parents moved to a home on South Brighton Street in Burbank, just a short distance from Disney Studios, where I later sold newspapers inside the studio complex. I attended St. Finbar grade school (where memories are still vivid of nuns in traditional habits and military garb required of all students) and Jordan Junior High before John Burroughs.
