LINDA KLINGENSMITH FOSS and JAMES
My Biography

I was born on April 2, 1938 in Inglewood, CA. I was the second of what was to be a family of four girls. We moved to Burbank in 1940.

I attended Roosevelt Grammar School, Luther Burbank Jr. High and of course, Burroughs. After graduation from Burroughs, I went to UCLA and spent four years there, although I wound up graduating from LA State. I transferred upon my marriage to James Foss in 1960 and moving to the San Gabriel Valley. My education at LA State was interrupted by a move to Michigan for 14 months. We came back to live in Downey and I finally graduated in 1963. I taught Kindergarten in East Los Angeles until our daughter, Diana, arrived in 1964. We were still in Downey, and our son, Brett, arrived there in 1966. In 1967 we moved to Woodland Hills as my husband had taken a job with DePatie-Freleng (Pink Panther), then in Burbank. We remained in Woodland Hills until 1971 when my husband became a partner in a construction firm in Huntington Beach. We moved to Huntington Beach and remained there for 24 years. Eventually my husband sold his share of the construction firm and started his own CPA practice in our home. That was 27 years ago. He is still practicing in our home in Cambria where we have lived for almost 10 years.

Except for my short stint as a teacher, I have been a homemaker and helped my husband in his home office. I enjoyed participating in our children’s activities growing up as well as taking classes for pleasure, being involved in service groups and being with family and friends. Today we are grandparents to Jed(9), Haley(9), Naomi(6) and Breanna(4). We love to travel when it’s not tax season and love getting together with family and friends, old and new.
