Joyce Evelyn Edwards Planck

Our beloved wife and mother, Joyce Evelyn Edwards Planck, was taken home on November 11, 2011 in Amarillo, Texas from complications of Septicemia and Alzheimer's. She was born August 20, 1938 at home in the small town of Porum, Okla. Joyce was married to Harry G. Planck in Burbank on July 7, 1956 and they recently celebrated 55 years together. Joyce is survived by her three children, Kirk Planck of Salt Lake City, Utah, Kim Smith of Oakdale, Calif. and Kelly Planck of Amarillo, Texas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Joyce was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for over 40 years, serving in various callings. She retired from the Southern California Gas Company after 30 years of service. She spent most of her life in Santa Maria and Palm Desert, Calif. Mom loved to sing in the choir, travel and support her children and grandchildren in sports and other activities. Her greatest joy in life came through service to her family and church. Funeral services at the Latter-Day Saint Chapel on Bell St. were held Tues., Nov. 15, 2011. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East by Cox Funeral Home.
