ARLENE DOERING
"TO LIVE IN THE HEARTS OF MANY IS NOT TO DIE"

Arlene (Doering) Wolf attended The Pasadena Playhouse as planned after graduating from Burroughs HS.  She met the love of her life, Marty Wolf, and the two were married in September of 1956.  They spent a year abroad, living in a flat in Paris, France, reconnecting with JBHS friend Danielle (Boyriven) Daury.  During the summer of 1958, they returned to Burbank to begin raising a family - two daughters: Monique and Becky.  Arlene and Marty's lives were genuinely transformed as they followed Jesus, getting to know Him through the Bible.  They couldn't keep the good news of God's love to themselves...which led them to a career in ministry in Montreal, Canada beginning in 1966, and then back to the San Fernando Valley in 1978.  Arlene's theatrical gifts and creative talents were often used in children's and youth ministry.  She had a unique love for children of all ages, and it was reciprocated!  She had a joyful exuberance for life that was contagious.

In 1980, Arlene underwent surgery to remove a cancerous mass.  It was not found early, so follow up treatment was required.  Arlene and Marty chose metabolic therapy rather than harsh traditional chemo, and bravely fought the cancer for close to 2 years.  God blessed her by allowing her to feel well most of those two years,  On March 6, 1982, surrounded by her loving family, she slipped away to eternal life with the only One who was victorious over the grave...her beloved Jesus.  While we miss her delightful presence, we know she is experiencing real life now, and we will be reunited in eternity!

The children left behind now includes two daughters, two sons-in-law, five grandsons, two granddaughters-in-law (soon to be three), one adorable great-grandbaby and a second on the way.
