I will brief you on my life during the past 47 years, some items will be
interesting some items dull.
After I graduated from Burroughs in 1955, I went to Glendale JC for one year
then joined the Weather Bureau after an interview at Lockheed in August 1956.
This began my 37+ year career with the National Weather Service.
I entered the Weather Service on Tatoosh Island, WA (18 acre) August 24, 1956.
I remained on the island, except for occasional visits with my parents in Burbank,
until a transfer to the National Weather Records Center in Asheville, NC in April 1959.
I married in September 1959 and during the next eight years had two sons, Don Jr and Doug.
A separation occurred in 1968 and, at that time, I transferred to Ely, NV.
I transferred again with a promotion to Eugene, OR in 1972 then on to
Missoula, MT in 1974...to Goodland, KS in 1976 and back to the LA area in 1978.
My mother passed away in 1979 after a lengthy illness and I remained in the LA
area to care for my aged father. He passed away in 1986 at the age of 90 (one month short).
I transferred to Palmdale, CA in 1987 as Meteorologist-In-Charge of the Palmdale
network weather radar station, moved up to Center Weather Service Meteorologist at the
FAA ARTCC in Palmdale and retired in January 1994.

My wife Norma and I moved to the beach at Oxnard, CA for a short stint, to Casper, WY
in 1995-1996...to Minnesota 1996-1997...back to Oxnard 1997...to Lake Hughes, CA 1998...
to Arroyo Grande, CA November 2000...to Casper, WY again December 2001...and here we are
(until another move likely back to Palmdale/Lancaster, CA area this fall).
I belong to the Screen Actors Guild and would like to get back into acting in the LA area
but dislike the smog and expensive LA housing. So.......my wife and I have decided enough is
enough
(she has two sons and a grandchild in the LA area) and the extra "moola" will come in handy
after I become a $20 MIL per pic performer (HA)!
I enjoy travel (on my own time and terms)...golf, meteorology, acting of course, and fun times
in general.
The bad news is that my youngest son, Doug, was killed in an auto accident in South Carolina
August 1997.
He left a wife and two children. My oldest son, Don Jr, has three children in Asheville, NC so
all in all
I have a son and  five grandchildren living in the Asheville, NC area which my wife and I visi
from
time to time.
