BARBARA BALLARD GRAY
My Biography

After graduating John Burroughs High, I went to work for Capitol Records in Hollywood. In 1958 I married Carl Boysal (Burbank High 1954) and we have two children a son and a daughter. After staying home and being a mommy for a couple of years I went back to work. Carl and I divorced in 1970. (After two other marriages I realized that I was better off being on my own). Shortly after that I went to work for Walt Disney Enterprises which is now called Imagineering. I loved my job and had a wonderful opportunity to work with multi talented people. My working years have been very diversified from being a nurse, bartender in my brother’s restaurant in Incline Village (Lake Tahoe) to supervisor to manager. In 1984 I flew to Frankfurt Germany and worked for the Department of Defense Independent Schools for three years. After returning to the United States I went to work for a Residential Builder as a Décor Manager. I had a staff of seven and managed five satellite décor centers. My passion is interior decorating so that was perfect for me. In 1993 the company made some bad investments and finally closed the doors.

I then went to work for the City of Irvine in Administraton on a two year contract basis. In 1996 I decided to move to Nevada at the request of my brother. I have been here ever since. I am currently employed with the State of Nevada in the State Archives as an Archives Technician. I have been there 7 ˝ years. I am planning on retiring the end of 2005.

I have been blessed with three granddaughters, one grandson and one great-granddaughter and two wonderful dogs. They have brought so much joy to my life. I love my home here in Dayton, which is about fifteen miles east of Carson City. But I plan to move back to Northern California in a couple of years to be closer to my son and daughter.
